Transfer activist Dylan Mulvaney denounced the restoration of the Trump administration of biological reality in government identification materials, claiming to be a female “no matter what my passport says”.
Tiktok Mulvaney star sparked national controversy in 2023 after posting a video revealing Bud Light sent beer cans with influenza’s face as part of a new advertising campaign and celebrating Mulvaney’s full year of Girlhood.
On Monday, CBS Mornings spoke with the Tiktok star about the consequences of this controversy and living as a person who identifies the transgender between the new Trump administration and its executive orders that dismantle pro-transgender policies.
Trump famed an executive order, “protecting women from the extremism of gender ideology and restoring the biological truth to the federal government”, his first day in office. The order forces the federal government to recognize only two genders – male and female – based on unchanging biological features, which must be reflected in official documents, such as passports.
The State Department, responsible for the passports, is no longer issuing a passport with the “X” marker who has been available since 2021 and is not honoring the requirements to change gender markers between “M” and “F.” Since then, a group of transgender people represented by the American Union of Civil Freedoms have filed a lawsuit claiming that politics violates the rights of intimacy and first change.
When asked about Trump’s executive order, Mulvaney was unclear.
“No way of changing I think of myself because I’m a woman no matter what my passport says,” the influencer said. “We are not hurting anyone. We are less than one percent of the population, and the way they talk about us is as often as we are, how, taking over cities like Godzilla. We are just being our authentic self. “
“CBS mornings” also noted Trump’s order to limit sex change procedures for young people 19 and under.
“Do you tell those who ask gender care questions, believing it can be irreversible and lead to problems later in life, even cause regret?” Asked CBS News Natalie Morales correspondent.
“I have no living experience of a trans child who was able to seek that care, but ultimately I believe parents know their child better than a government,” Mulvaney replied. “We need to allow those families to understand what is best for them.”
