ABC News president seemed to be reading from a scenario while announcing the 15 employees on the data-driven news site, in Fivethirteight that they were out of work-even though employees learned the night before from a Wall Street Journal article, according to a report.

Almin Karamehmedovic received no questions and offered no explanation as to why the Disney corporate parent decided to close the page made famous by founder Nate Silver, according to the status bulletin.

“The whole issue, I’m told. It lasted about 15 minutes.”

Shortly afterwards, Fivethirteight employees had their access to the ABC News Systems and the site was no longer accessible online, by status.

Fivethirteight is closing as part of the widespread holidays on ABC News and Disney Entertainment Networks.

Workplace cuts, notified to staff on Wednesday, will affect approximately 200 employees, accounting for about six percent of the total labor force in both divisions.

Most of the dismissal are concentrated in ABC News, with a considerable number of New York -based affected employees.

In addition to closing Fivethirtyeight, ABC News is restructuring some of its programming.

Seni Tienabeso has also taken a new role as vice president who oversees ABC News Live and other specialized units.

Catherine McKenzie, the executive manufacturer of “GMA3”, the third hour of the show, was issued as part of the breaks that were notified by the chief of the network Almin Karamehmedovic, according to the status newspaper.

However, it remains unclear whether G. Elliott Morris, the Iditorial Director of the Data Analytical site, will remain with the network or what will be done from the wide collection of Fivertyeight data.

“As reported, all the 538 staff was fired this morning,” Morris wrote on his social media site.

“This is a severe blow to political data journalism, and I feel for my colleagues. Readers Note: As we were instructed not to publish any new content, all the planned updates for surveillance data and the average are endlessly canceled. Great loss :(“

Nate Silver, who left the site in 2023 in an early round of disappointment, also reacted to the news with disappointment. “Oh Geez, I just saw the news around 538,” he wrote.

“My heart goes to the people there. They were extremely workers and produced a lot of data and penetration extremely valuable to all those who want to better understand politics. They deserved much better. ”

ABC News employees told the status that dismissals were similar to a “massacre”. According to the newspaper, the employees were clearly crying and upset as they roam the corridors of the company’s Manhattan office offices on Wednesday.

“It’s a very strange scene in the building – people crying and worrying. Many telephone calls in panic among employees trying to understand it,” one staff told.
