Michelle Obama blames partisanism for making controversial school lunch program

Former First Lady Michelle Obama said she could not believe how controversial her school lunch initiative turned out to be during a recent Podcast interview.

“I was trying to be a strategic to approximate my agenda with something that was important to West Wing and I thought,” there is no way someone will get a problem with trying to make school lunches healthy, making children more active, “Obama said in Podcast,” Not Gonna Gonja “with Kylie Kelce, released on Thursday.

“Just trying to make the next generation healthier than ours and the boy, was I wrong, which is really interesting in these times with the current secretary of health and human services [Robert F. Kennedy Jr.] Who is now saying some of the same things I was saying, “she added.

Kennedy directs Make America Healthy again (Maha) and has said he will require “radical transparency” for the safety of food and the removal of artificial colors of food, chemicals and preservatives.

In 2010, Obama launched her initiative “Let’s Move” intended to curb childhood overweight.

The initiative had a focus on reforming school lunches and included changes such as “more whole grains, fruits and vegetables; low -fat milk products; and less sodium and fat” as well as portion control.

The program specified that the schools that were in accordance with the changes would receive an additional 6 cents refund for each lunch served.

“It became a partisan issue. People were telling me that I am trying to be ‘Nanny’s state’, and I am trying to control what our children are eating and telling them what is good for them and what is not good for them,” Obama Kelce told.

As she accepted the reaction, Obama said she thinks the program made a difference.

“Finally, we’ve done a lot. You know, we were able to improve food standards, labels so that they were more readable so that people’s parents could really understand the breakdown of fat and sugar, and it was clear that we got the school food standards to be improved in our schools for the first time.

She also sought by breaking the Guinness World record title to have more people making plugs dancing over a 24-hour period at an event on the southern lawn of the White House.

“We were really focused on making it fun, making the kids active, reminding parents that, you know, we have to make fun of the exercises,” Obama said. “So we had a lot of amazing partnerships with NFL, and we said the Guinness World record. I planted a garden to try to make people more focused on making a little more fun and interesting vegetables for kids. But it was everything to really deal with a real health crisis that many people did not take seriously.”
