“Legal update: Today I gained a big claim for defamation against Guardian Media / Observer (@guardian) for his lazy journalism,” said Murray – a postal columnist who writes about world and American politics, including wars in Ukraine and Gaza. “Last year the newspaper made very serious and false accusations against me, based on uncontrolled claims on social media.”

In the Malik part, he used Murray’s interview with former Australian Prime Minister John Anderson for Israel and Islam – from six months ago – claiming that Murray made comments to migrants during the UK protests that stabbed three young girls.

Malik’s mistake was corrected before the internet was published and a correction was released in the printed Observer edition.

Jurists for the Guardian media group were forced to read a statement in court making the mistake and falsity of Malik’s claims. The exit also agreed to pay damages and legal fees for Murray, the media reported for the first time.
