More than half of Americans undergo “the appearance of fear” every tax season, according to new research.
From the stress to start your taxes in the first place to worry if everything was properly filled, a survey of US 2,004 taxpayers found that these feelings of anxiety consume 54% of respondents.
The survey also shared the zodiac sign respondents to see if tax filing habits can be written in the stars.
“Fear of fear” is especially true for tauruses, as almost one in five (19%) feel “too much” of annual anxiety, compared to only 10% of aquarus and ram.
Perhaps by contributing to that stress, almost one in five (16%) Taurus owes the IRS money they didn’t. One in five scorpios (19%) admits that they have accidentally filled something incorrectly before and 15% of the scales waited for the last day to submit.
Another source of tax anxiety may be that 17% and bulls are waiting until April to submit their taxes and 17% admit that they usually end up to appear later than it was planned.
Interestingly, Dashi is more likely to wait until April to submit their taxes (19%), although they are also more likely to sign to stay with that timeframe and submit when they planned (71%), this may be why their less “tax tax” experience.
In previous years, those who end up presenting after their domestic (16%) usually do so simply because they delay (45%), while almost one in five (16%) worry that they will need to give money rather than get money.
Performed by Talker Research on behalf of the Chime banking app, the survey explored the highest and low levels of the tax season and found some startling zodiac correlations.
Scorpions were found to be the last prosecutors (58%), while Virgos would better do things other than tax filing (23%). Taurus are more likely to forget to present in the first place (25%).
On the rolling side of the early filing (16%), cancers do this because they just want to overcome it with (62%) and Leo need quick money for other expenses (46%).
Meanwhile, Capricorns are more likely to present earlier than planned (23%). Gemini file at first, so that they plan their spring and spring journey (24%), while Aquarius are ready to plan and book their summer trips (25%).
“The tax season can be dizzying, and the longer you wait, the more stressful it can be. Starting your head gives you mental peace and ensures that you have time to catch mistakes and avoid the last minute surprises,” Kanele Salren, chief chief expense officer, said. “Sometimes surprises like the extra costs you didn’t expect to pay to present can make the process even more disappointing. Do your research and make sure you are using a service that does not charge fees for state or federal appearance. “
More than half of all respondents (51%) agree that the longer they expect to submit their taxes, the more stressed they do.
The good news is that in 2025, 55% of the other late ordinary fillers are planning to “disrupt the cycle” and avoid submitting their taxes late.
However, only 28% of Americans surveyed were able to identify that the IRS begins to accept and process tax returns at the end of January, with only 23% of Aquarius and Leo taking it right.
Sagittarius (27%) are more likely to be afraid to submit their taxes year after year and they also feel more concerned after appearing than any other sign (19%).
On the other hand, after the layout process is complete, twins feel relief (60%) and Capricorns feel satisfied (43%), while scales feel exhausted (10%).
However, after everything is presented, Americans feel financially secure (26%) and that their financial situation improves (24%).
“Tax management can be complicated, and with so much details to be deceived, it’s easy to feel stressed. “For example, only 27% of respondents will use an app to submit, which suggests that many sources of easy use are lacking that can help simplify experience and reduce tax season strain.”
