Apple shareholders are expected to reject an attempt to put pressure on technology trends in removing corporate programs created to diversify its work power.
The proposal drafted by the National Public Policy Research Center-a self-described conservative tank-requires Apple to pursue a Litany of high profile companies that are drawn from diversity, equality and involvement initiatives currently in chairs President Donald Trump.
Tuesday’s voting comes a month after the same group presented a similar proposal during Costco’s annual meeting, just to refuse it overwhelmingly.
A similar result is expected during Apple’s annual meeting, despite the vocal objections of critics.
As Costco does, Apple has stood steadily after diversity and involvement efforts claiming his management has good business meaning.
But the proposal of the National Public Policy Research Center has attacked Apple’s diversity commitments to comply with recent court decisions and said programs exhibit Cupertino, California, a company in an attack of possible lawsuits for the allegation of discrimination.
The group estimated that about 50,000 Apple employees can present cases against Apple without detail how it reached that figure.
“It is clear that Dei is a litigation, reputable and financial risks to companies, and therefore financial risks to their shareholders, and therefore further risks to companies not to respect their trust tasks,” says the National Center for Public Policy Research in its proposal.
The potential legal spectrum was enlarged last week when Florida James Uthmeier’s Prosecutor General filed a federal lawsuit against Target claiming that the scaled retail dealer recently alienated many customers and underestimated sales to the detriment of the shareholders.
In his opposition to the anti-dei proposal, Apple said his program is an integral part of a culture that has helped set up the company in its current market value of $ 3.7-larger than any other business in world.
“We believe the way we behave ourselves is just as critical for Apple’s success as making the best products in the world,” the company said in its statement against the proposal.
“We seek to develop business ethically, honestly and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.”
In his latest report of diversity and involvement released in 2022, Apple revealed that nearly three -quarters of its global workforce consisted of white and Asian workers.
Nearly two -thirds of her employees were men.
Other major technology companies have for years reported to hire mainly white and Asian men, especially in high-paying engineering work-a tendency that prompted the industry to follow what has been mostly unsuccessful efforts to diversify .
