FCC wants to submit the interview transcripts to Harris, the footage as it reviews the union of the Paramount market

CBS News said he is working to meet the FCC request for “full, unprecedented transcription and camera sources from our interview with Vice President Harris who broadcast on 7 October 2024”, according to a statement given in Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news.

The infamous interview led Donald Trump to file a $ 10 billion lawsuit, claiming that the “fraudulent” Tiffany network edited the landing to make his presidential opponent look better before the election.

Previously, CBS had said it broadcast a more summarized version of Harris’s answer to a question about Israel in “60 minutes” than the one shown during a promo on “Face the Nation” the day before – and called them Claims without merit.

At that time the Trump Presidency candidate sued Paramount-Global-parent CBS, claiming to do so do her interview to favor her during the elections. 60 minutes / CBS

But FCC chairman appointed by Trump, Brendan Carr has made it clear in recent weeks about the desire to see unparalleled transcripts before the agency to unite the $ 8 billion Paramount with Skydance.

FCC can throw a wrench in the deal because it involves the transfer of television broadcasting licenses held by local CBS stations.

Carr has been vocal to examine prejudice allegations by Legacy Media and may affect the agreement.

In an interview in November, he mentioned a news trial against CBS set up by the American Center for American Rights as an element he would consider.

FCC involvement comes after reporting that Paramount is in talks to resolve Trump’s lawsuit, which has led to anger at CBS among the rank and file. Staff are thinking that a payment can have negative consequences for freedom of the press. Legal experts have also dismissed the lawsuit as unfounded.

However, Shari Redstone, the 70-year-old daughter of the late Mogul Sumner Redstone, is believed to be eager to place the legal saga behind her in order to strengthen the chances that the Trump administration regulators will stamp with the Union tire, according to to the New York Times.

Redstone controls Paramount through her shares in national entertainment, which she plans to sell in Skydance for a reported $ 1.75 billion report.

Possible CBS capitulation in lawsuit filed by Trump would come after Walt Disney Company Achieves a Settlement for a December Law Contract regarding comments made by ABC News George Stephanopoulos’s anchor, who mistakenly stated that Trump was found responsible for rape in rape E. Jean Carroll case, rather than sexual assault.

To resolve the issue, Disney reportedly agreed to donate $ 15 million to Trump’s presidential library and cover $ 1 million in legal fees.

Similarly, the Meta platforms, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, filed a lawsuit with Trump after banning his accounts in the wake of January 6, 2021, Capitol Riot.

The deal included a $ 25 million payment, with $ 22m set for the next Trump library.
