Megyn Kelly hit back at billionaire Oprah Winfrey’s “ridiculous” town hall she hosted for Vice President Kamala Harris, saying Oprah “Ozempic Thin” had become “elitist” and that she was no longer “real”.
“I miss fat Oprah. She was just real,” Kelly said on Friday’s episode of the SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
“Now this thin Ozempic Oprah has lost — along with the pounds, her heart — her sense of authenticity,” Kelly said.
Winfrey captured a township in the key battleground state of Michigan.
The event was billed as “Unite for America,” an official Harris campaign town hall Thursday night that was streamed live online.
The event was practically attended by high-powered celebrities including Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock and Jennifer Lopez. Winfrey also interviewed Harris in a format similar to her long-running daytime television show.
Kelly, however, was not impressed.
“I loved Oprah, like most of us growing up,” the former Fox News star told primetime.
“And I just now realized that I’ve been spoon-fed propaganda from this woman for years.”
Kelly said Oprah’s town hall was a “debacle” and “the ultimate culmination of her journalistic failures.”
While interviewing “the potential next president of the United States,” Winfrey failed “not only…[to] ask them tough questions” but she used the format “to rehabilitate and repackage[e]”Harris.
Kelly said Winfrey should have pressed Harris on her gun policies as well as the border crisis.
Harris made news during the event when he told Winfrey that “if anybody comes into my house, they’re going to get shot, I’m sorry.”
“Maybe he shouldn’t have said that,” Harris said as the audience laughed. “But my staff will deal with that later.”
Kelly criticized Winfrey for not following up with Harris by asking her about her support for mandatory gun buybacks.
“You can frame that question in a number of ways, but it has to be framed if you’re an honest broker,” Kelly said.
“She’s not,” she added, referring to Winfrey.
Kelly said Winfrey’s wealth has made her a “purged, elite, billionaire” who has not “spent time hanging out with a working-class person” in this country.
Kelly also took Winfrey to task for the “yelling” she did during the event.
“I was like, what is she doing? It feels contrived, forced, and it’s making me uncomfortable,” Kelly told Winfrey.
The Post has reached out to Winfrey for comment.
