Megyn Kelly mocked Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris for dragging out candidate Tim Walz in her first media interview — referring to the Minnesota governor as her “big white hole.”
“You can’t do it with your tail next to you, your big white blanket for every interview,” the former Fox and NBC host said on her SiriusXM podcast “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Wednesday.
Harris finally agreed to do a taped hearing, which will air on CNN at 9 p.m. ET Thursday, five weeks after he was named as Joe Biden’s successor following the aging president’s decision not to seek re-election. .
“Here we are, the ’emotional support governor’ will sit down with our potential next commander in chief for the first interview in five weeks since the shocking developments in the Democratic race and the White House. , who is running the country, how it got nominated and what it actually has in store for us,” Kelly said.
Kelly recalled that she “used to have a big white blanket that I carried everywhere.”
“He happens to be white. He’s her big white blank that she needs to talk to the press about.”
Kelly also asked if Walz would “come in to save her” during the interview with CNN’s Dana Bash.
“If I were running for president and I had a running mate … man or woman sitting next to me, and if they asked me a tough question and my running mate jumped in to save me, I’d say, ‘Excuse me , that one was for me,’ and I would continue my answer,” Kelly said.
She wondered if Walz would “have the nerve” to “actually step in because he knows it’s going to undermine him, and yet that’s his purpose for being there.”
“And also, even if she doesn’t use the big white blanket that way, that’s half the questions. She’s sitting with Dana Bash, but she only has to do half the time because he’s going to take the rest,” according to Kelly.
Kelly predicted the Harris-Walz interview won’t have “a big downer moment” because Bash is “definitely more sympathetic to Democrats.”
Bash “doesn’t want to burn her career on this landing.”
A CNN spokesperson released a statement to The Post defending Bash.
“Dana Bash is a respected veteran reporter who has covered politics and politicians in Washington for more than three decades,” a CNN representative told The Post.
“She has extensive experience interviewing key political figures and is highly qualified to interview both Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz,” the spokesman said, adding, “We look forward to their conversation.”
The Post has sought comment from the Harris-Walz campaign.
Kelly said Harris’ refusal to agree to an interview so far “doesn’t inspire confidence in me as a woman.”
“Everyone is supposed to be celebrating that she can be our first female president, and she can’t even do a sit-down interview by herself,” she said.
“I have news for you Mrs. Harris, the presidency is not supposed to work like this.”
